Hi, I’m Barry O’Kane. I am a Web Developer, Entrepreneur, Ultimate Frisbee fanatic, Traveller, Dancer and Single Malt lover.
I have been in the internet industry since the last millennium. Over the years I have been involved in a huge variety of web sites, web applications and projects, ranging from the very small to the vastly huge. My web development career started in London in 1999 with the wonderful Bomb Productions. Where I had the pleasure of working on amazing sites such as channel4.com and Lego Technic. In 2001 I moved to Scotland and after working for VisitScotland.com, co-founded my first business (Ezone Software) focusing on web development primarily for the hospitality industry.
Since then I have been lucky enough to grow my web development, business and entrepreneurial skills working on wonderful variety of projects, both large and small.
Today I have the great pleasure of running my businesses without the need for a fixed office and so split my working time between Scotland, SE Asia and Australia.
I’ve learned how to understand and maximise success in web software development from high level strategy through tactics and process all the way to writing code.
I appreciate the importance and value of good design & UI, but I can’t make things look good; unless you like yellow boxes…
I have also had the honour of working with and managing many truly wonderful individuals and teams. Long may that continue!
I have far too many bad jokes (especially about tractors).
